Bad Friends with Black Cats Release New Single: “Okay Bye”

Bad Friends with Black Cats’ new song “Okay Bye” starts off as a folk punk sound that reminds me of Sticky Steve and Mischief Brew i.e. fucking rad. Then it moves into more of a pop punk sound but with really pronounced a dope as fuck guitar leads that just slap.

Lyrically there is all sorts of angst and emotion from waking up and being angry that one is still alive to wanting to take a moment to get your shit together to leave this place. Metaphorically, the singer seems to be not getting the air they need to live while they are also getting just enough not to die. When stuck in this space the only thing to do is sometimes get high to mitigate these emotions, plus they apparently need to shit.
